Assoc. Dr. Ali Kemal Erdemoğlu pointed out that migraine is seen among the women at a high rate, "Most of the patients are not aware that they are migraines. In our country where one in every four women is migraine, changes in daily life in working and home life, sleeping problems, lack of regular eating habits, and tensions in the workplace can provide a more suitable environment for migraineurs in working women.
Especially in menstrual periods, hormonal effects increase brain sensitivity, and in most women the pain becomes more pronounced. High estrogen levels can improve migraine, while lower levels can aggravate migraine. For example, some women are able to pass their first migraine attacks after they have started their birth control pills. Conversely, menopause and migraine attacks between 3 and 9 months of pregnancy are rare. "
