Breast cancer develops as abnormal and uncontrolled growths of the breast cells. The reason for this is a small group of genetic mutations in the cell. These cells become immortal and divide unlimitedly, resulting in tumor formation. There are various types of breast cancer where it starts and its severity. Usually a head mass and features of masses in breast cancer can give information about the type of cancer.
In breast cancer, the masses consist of unconsciously dividing cells that are very close together. In some types of breast cancer, the mass is surrounded by a scar because of tissue damage caused by the tumor. In such breast cancer, the mass will feel very tight and hard when touched.
Other types of cancer can cause massive thickening of the breast tissue. According to the University of Cincinnati, in some breast carcinomas the masses are smaller protrusions, so they may be smoother and less noticeable.
In breast cancer, masses are characterized by which region their chest grows and grows. Breast cancer masses are usually seen in the breast ducts, in the ways that milk-producing lobes connect to the breast. In some cases, breast cancer can also be seen in lapdogs.
