Why does it get cold during menopause?

All women menopause lives. The average menopause age in the U.S. is 51-52, while it is 50 in our country. Menopausal manifestations take place in a variety of ways that are almost unique. While there are very few symptoms in some women, some have very severe symptoms. In some women, the symptoms last for years, while others end in a few months.

The most common symptom of menopause is hot flashes known as hot flashes. However, the chances of menopausal chills are as high as hot pressures.

Menopause is a natural and biological process. It means the end of menstruation and fertility period. It occurs 12 months after the last menstrual period and can trigger both physical and emotional symptoms. Hormones play a major role in many symptoms.

These include fatigue, sleep disturbance, night sweats, hot flashes, chills, irregular menstrual periods, trembling, mood swings, hair loss and hair thinning.

Coldness in menopause is suddenly accompanied by a tremendous cold sensation and trembling. It is unexpected that the response to cold and chills given to the air is different from that given by medical reasons. The brain monitors and regulates the warmth of the body. When an equilibrium (eg menopause) is disturbed, the chemicals dissipate throughout the bloodstream causing the brain to increase its normal temperature equilibrium point. This leads to coldness and dizziness to help the body reach the new temperature equilibrium point.

As estrogen levels drop, hormonal and biochemical imbalances emerge. Falling estrogen levels are thought to be responsible for both hot flashes and menopausal cold.

The hypothalamus is the region of the brain responsible for regulating body temperature and becomes overactive. This causes the hypothalamus to secrete various chemicals, causing the blood vessels in the skin to expand and lose heat. Thus, the feeling of chill is felt.

Estrogen replacement therapy is a popular treatment method used by menopausal women to regulate body temperature. Low-dose antidepressants, gabapentin, and other drugs such as clonidine may reduce hot flashes and colds. Balanced diet, regular exercise, drinking enough water, not smoking, alcohol and measures such as limiting caffeine consumption also reduce symptoms of menopause. It can be beneficial to get up and move on foot during cold spells in menopause by increasing blood circulation.
